A Glimmer of Hope

With my Thermo and Applied Mechanics exam down the drain, I suddenly saw a small glimmer of hope when I saw the Strengh of Materials mid term. Phew, the questions given are much more easier than what they have in the textbook. Although I made 1 or 2 mistakes, i can finally breathe again as I'm able to answer most of the questions. As I gave a sigh of relief, my mind wondered again at the prospect of next week. Another hellish week will start. With Monday a holiday is a small relief, I can spend more time on studying.

Today we did a small practice for the play that we have to do next 2 weeks. This is for the kesusasteraan course. And this play is worth 30% of our total course work. Therefore, I had to put in more effort in it. I got a small role in the play, which I'm truely grateful, but I'll try to contribute more on other aspects. The lecturer said that if the group gets 25 marks then all would get the same marks. All members must act.

The role I got had only one line. Its relatively very very light to other characters. During the actual play, I think my role would be at the computer managing it and other backstage work.

One Hell of a Week

Tomorrow I'll be having my Thermodynamics mid term. Had very little time to study it as it was announced this very morning. Most of my friends doesn't have any motivation on studying it. Who's fault is it? Well in my opinion, both the students and lecturer are at fault. For students, its low motivation. For the lecturer part, "Damn it. You could told us ahead of time and tell any student. Rather than relying on the stupid LMS. For those students who doesn't have any access to internet what will they do? If the internet is down how bout them?"

This lecturer doesn't consider the student's best interest at heart, rather his actions so far has been troublesome for us. I'm not really enthusiastic about studying this subject anymore. And then this Friday I'll be having my Strength of Materials mid term. This is another subject where I don't know how to study. The lecturer is a newbie. And I really meant it. She doesn't know how to teach and she only read text from the notes which originated from the textbook. We can't really tell what kind of questions she'll set. Easy? Hard? I'm placing my bet on "Out of this world".

Thankfully, our Fluids lecturer who had planned to have his test tomorrow postponed it to next week and also agree to let us delay the handing in of our lab reports to next week. Our math mid term is also postponed to next week. Wow. It seems like everything is shifted to next week. Well, originally we should have our math mid term before the convocation holidays. As our lecturer, Dr. Yeoh said before, if we had our exams earlier less lessons would be included in it. Majority of my friends wanted to have it before the holidays. However, its not the majority of my friends that win, but the other half of the class wanted to have the exam after the holidays. As if they didn't realize the stress and workload that was pilling up after the holidays. (Baka)

MY Workload for next week :
1. Math mid term
2. Fluid test
3. Lab report
4. Tiong Hua's essay
5. Japanese group presentation draft

I felt that this week is hard to go through. I wouldn't want to think about next week. It'll be like hell. Oh, wait I'm living in hell now. It'll be worse than hell. Pray hard that I'll past next week.

One last thing, will our government change in 3 weeks time or will it remain the same?

Cooking up a Storm

Its the opening ceremony of our house kitchen. We cooked fried rice for lunch yesterday and the overall results : its not bad. Its been a while since i fried my own rice, and it tasted ok i guess. Still edible. Had no trouble with my stomach. LOLZ. Everyone took part in the preparation. We did a little shopping the day before. I went to buy some eggs before we started cooking. The cleaning process was OK too. We did our fair share and most probably we will also cook this weekend.

Here's a little funny quote I took from Ef ~ A Tale of Memories.
"I can cook but the end product can't be eaten."
This is a nice little phrase for those who can't cook but this sounds a lot nicer.

Another news for those who watches a little anime. The popular anime Full Metal Alchemist is confirmed to have a 2nd season. This is not a rumour. Its true but the release date I haven't confirmed it yet. Will be looking forward for this show.

Gamers Paradise

As one can see from the above, the living room of my house has become a mini cyber cafe. Its almost a weekly event where Friday or Saturday, friends from all over will come and gather in this small room to play games. Currently the top game is DOTA. Normally we would start to gather around 9pm and the game would normally start around 9.30 when all the members had gathered and all the equipment had been set up. Due to the shortage of cable, some had to connect through wireless. Normally the game progresses without any problems and here is where to fun starts. Considering other housemates, the sound made while playing is controlled to the mininum. Although there are moments where it can be a little bit noisy, we tried to keep it down.

Gathering in a place to play dota is not a foreign thing to us as we had done so way back during our 1st semester in Sabah. Most of the players are engineering students. We can see now why the bridges in Malaysia always crumble. In the 1st sem, everyone had to gather in a small room which is barely able to fit in 10 people and the room is fully packed. The condition seems to improve for us and we would play until 2-3am. Although I know staying up late playing games is very unhealthy for me,but it can't be helped. LOLZ. =.="

Turning 3v1l

Yesterday a friend of mine introduced me a game call KuWakChai at kuwakchai.com which is a gangster type mmorpg game. This game is pretty much similar to what they have in facebook except for one thing that I loved. Its in ENGLISH. I know, I can't read Chinese and it sucks. Seeing that most of my friends are playing the chinese version in facebook and I can't join them. Well, its kinda like an alternative for me. Even I can't mix with my uni buddies on playing the kuwakchai in facebook, i can now join my other friends back in semenanjung for this game. The overall concept is not bad and it has its merits.

Although is a holiday, my progress in my studies are quite slow compared to what i planned to do. Should be able to catch up for certain subjects, however there are a couple subjects which I can't seem to get their notes in my head. Its been a terrible road block for those subjects and quite a few friends experience the same thing.

One last thing for 2day, planning to buy a new mouse since my current mouse is giving me some small problems. When i left click it once, sometimes it would act as a double click and would activate some programs that i don't want to or enter other website. Its not a major problem, but it can be quite irritating.

Shoes Blues

Its been quite a while since my slipper has a crocodile mouth. My left side one. Thinking that it could last till i find a new slipper which suites my taste I kept delaying the purchase of a new slipper. However fate forces me to buy a new one as the stripe on my right one broke off. Now both my left and right slippers suffers heavy damage and i had little choice but to find a new replacement. Got a new one at 1 Borneo's Giant. Cost me bout RM15. Although its not really what i wanted, it will have to do at the moment until I find what i want. Took pictures of it to upload it here but the quality of the pictures are ............. unfit to be uploaded.

On a happier note, this semester I was able to find more time to do more exercise. Been taking fencing training every Saturday and played basketball yesterday. I'm definitely having a much more healthier lifestyle compare to my last 2 semesters during my stay at Sabah. This also includes the food I'm taking. While in the hostel, the food is #@$%#&@$!!#$#%. I can't really describe it. Comparing it to the food i'm eating now, its like heaven and hell. I'm taking all the correct nutrient i should take and its a big difference.

Quote of the month.
Its by my lecturer, Dr. Harimi
"Correcting a mistake with another mistake makes 2 mistakes."

Limit Break

One of the main reason I can put this next post into my blog is because of the freaking low amount of people reading this blog. Which is a good thing for me as this is actually a complain bout my life. Therefore this is a prior warning to those who doesn't want to waste their time on this post.

Well, its a known fact that life is damn unfair and I've been tolerating it for a very long time. Not to boast or anything, but I'm sure that my level of tolerance is quite high. (Thanks to the training I received at home.) However, there are a few things that I don't like to tolerate. Its when people eat back their words and don't follow an agreement. For certain reasons, Activity A is banned through out the day and is only allowed at night from Sunday night to Thursday night. Before this agreement was affirmed, I'd done it during day time, which nobody was supposingly be at home at that time, but due to unexpected circumstances, they went home early. They reminded me to follow the agreement (one of them said it in a way where i truly wanted to punch him in the face) and so since then, I've been following the agreement to what it really meant.

However, those stuff that can't be done by me, can be done by them. They done it during daylight, which nobody was at home(its the reason that THEY, themselves said can't be used for Activity A) and also they done it during Friday and Saturday night. They said that I can't do it, but for them its OK??!? WTF!!! How come its OK for them but when it come to my turn its always a NO. "Oh, must be fair." , "that time nobody using." When I give the exact same reason, they become rubbish but when others said them, they became valid reason.

Is it because I remained silent for too long? Is it that I'm easy to bully? My rights and priority ALWAYS come last. No matter where or when. Let it be at home or outside. I really don't like and don't want to start any argument therefore i kept silent all those times and bear with the unfairness. However, I'm reaching my limit. People are always like that, freakingly SELFISH. They always put themselves first. If possible, they will try to take other people's space. The more I step back, the more they advance onto my space. Compare to what I did at home, I've really sacrificed a lot here and done Activity A to a level far below what i set as a minimum where its been very very hard on me.

When one of the ingredients for Activity A became paralyzed, they would be first assuming that I'm the culprit and asked that if I'm doing Activity A. Its the holidays now, and it means that active users of the ingredient for Activity A(Ingredient B) mentioned above will stay up more late than usual and use Ingredient B. Trying to understand their situation, I've also stayed up late to where the point they wouldn't use Ingredient B to a certain extend. I realized that other users are also using Ingredient B for Activity A. The best part is that they didn't use any limiter. Its also an agreement where in order to do Activity A, a limiter must be imposed to reduce the effect on other users. However, due to certain users that didn't use any limiter, my rate of Activity A has truly gone down the drain.

I wanted to complain, I wanted to shout out loud and claim back some of my rights. However, I had a feeling that what comes out from my mouth will be treated as rubbish and with utmost unimportantness. Its always been like this and most probably will continue. Can anyone out there teach me what i should do? I'm stuck with this status and its only a matter of time before i crack open my head.

Lesson of the day : Never put too much trust in a person. There is always a chance that people will betray one another. I've learnt it the hard way. This also implies on family members. People will back stab you when the time and conditions are suitable.

This case is different for everyone. However, my experience has left a dark mark in myself making me never to put 100% trust in one person. There's always a limit for trusting a person. Being betrayed is very painful and this is merely a precaution step to minimize them.

Another normal day

Nothing much to write about, not that there's anyone waiting for me to update this. Just writing to burn some time. I got VOS(Virtual Orchestra Studio) which is kinda like O2Jam from Lip Fong and somehow manage to find the VOS creater which means i can create my own songs to play. The only drawback is it requires midi format files. Those who knows me will know what kind of music I'll find and download to edit them. My music will be pretty much sound boring to others. Don't expect anyone to understand why I like them so much. Kinda addicted to VOS because compare to O2Jam, I actually get to play my 'type' of music. Here and out. Nothing much to say. As usual a boring piece of post.

Dark Night

Last Tuesday, was pretty normal except that my house doesn't have any electricity. At 1st I thought at it was the entire row of houses. However, around 6 to 7pm, i was clearly mistaken. It was only my house that didn't have electric supply. We lodge a complain to SESB ( Sabah Electricity SDN. BHD.) and waited for quite some time. Before we made the complain, we call the house owner for help and she sent over a someone to my place. He checked everything that could went wrong but discovered that nothing was wrong. There were electricity in the house but somehow we couldn't have access to it. He suggested that the source of the problem might be at the little box attached to the electric pole in front of our house. We waited for quite some time and call SESB every hour. It was very hot that night and by 11pm, no one came. Some of my housemates wanted to go to sleep, however the heat overcomed their will and we resorted to one thing. McDonald.

Since it opens 24 hours and it has nice air-conds we decide that we would spend the night there, by doing our homework, a little bit of study and we even took our Uno cards there. We stayed there until 1am plus when a phone call came saying that the SESB guy is at our house. Only one person is in the house at that time, which is Dominic. We tried to call him but he didn't answer it. Assuming that he fell asleep, Stephen and Chung Vi went back to the house to check things up. The SESB guy took a quick look and could tell that the problem resides on the little box on the electric pole. And he fixed it easily. I got a call from Chung Vi telling me that it was all done and called me to fetch everyone back. Only there is one little problem, i didn't took the car keys out. Thinking that we would spend the whole night there, i left the car keys at home.

No choice, Stephen had to fetch Chung Vi back here to McD to deliver the car keys. It was that fateful moment that when Chung Vi arrived at McD, he saw "someone was on the floor with these".

And there goes the chair. I wouldn't want to say out the culprit (might be killed when i sleep). We all had a good laugh. Although it was hard on the guy who broke the chair.

Other than this, my week was rather uneventful, unless you consider the Japanese Mid Term and Applied Mechanics test 1 (which i blew it). Hope that I'll enter more stuff in my blog. Although its dying one but I couldn't just leave it to die.

Yours Truthfully,
KiraWing

Lazy Week

Been a bit lazy to update my blog. One of the few reasons is the lack of motivation. However strangely these few days I have a feeling to keep typing things. No particular reason, just feel like typing words. The stupid telekom in Sabah here is damn useless. So they say, within 10 working days that the new streamyx line will be ready. Its bullsh1t. Before we went to apply the line, I already placed my bet that the process will be delayed. This based on my past experience with streamyx. My prediction was right. In fact, the time delayed was far more worse than what i predict. Even now, the line was not establish. And I manage to witness "Way of The Telekom". Telekom blame streamyx, and streamyx blame telekom. Wow. Even without coming to our house to check, they can even say that the cable line used was 'rosak'. Even i can't say things like that without looking at it 1st hand. I could say that their brain 'rosak'. If don't know the problem, come to the house to check. Instead they can sit comfortably and point fingers at other people. I wonder if some people has their brain born in the backside instead of the head. My problem here was not the 1st to happen. Some of my friends also had problem to obtain streamyx in their house. I wish those people would be much more efficient. If they are not capable to do their jobs within 10 days, don't say so.

"Oh, 10 working days is enough." Yea rite. Been calling the contractor the whole day and guess what, i never got through. And the damn fella cut some of my calls. Great. Would someone please bring down the whole Telekom and establish a better telefon service. I'm sick of them.
